Need an Official Docket or Record?
Lake of the Woods County Court Administration maintains the local Minnesota District Court records for civil, criminal, family, probate, juvenile, traffic, tax, and conciliation cases. Contact the office for a current hearing setting, an older file, a courthouse public-access terminal, a plain copy, a certified copy, or directions for a case-specific request. The office does not provide legal advice.

MCRO can show eligible public case information, but it does not issue certified copies, schedule hearings, accept filings, or take fine payments. A written request for a court record should identify the case name or number, the document sought, the requested copy type, delivery details, and a daytime phone number. Call first for the current amount and payment instructions because the county does not publish a separate local court-copy request form or turnaround period.
- Use MCRO Case Search for eligible public case details.
- Use the local public terminal or counter when the remote display is incomplete.
- Request court-file copies from Court Administration, not from the county's general data-request route.
- Contact the Sheriff Records Division for law-enforcement reports rather than the court Register of Actions.
- Use the Court Payment Center or Court WebPay only for an eligible court citation or fine.
The county's public-information page routes county and law-enforcement data to different custodians. It does not replace the Minnesota Judicial Branch process for a Lake of the Woods County court case. For a restricted, sealed, juvenile, or expunged matter, Court Administration can explain the public access path allowed by the governing rule.
